IQNA – A former Saudi intelligence official hailed the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation launched by the Hamas resistance movement against Israel on October 7.

Saud al-Faisal

Prince Turki al-Faisal, former director of Saudi Arabia’s general intelligence directorate, said the Hamas operation against Israeli occupation shattered the Tel Aviv regime’s image of invincibility before the eyes of the world, Arabi21 reported.

Speaking in an interview with Al-Ekhbariya network, he said many people in the world thought Israel to be too powerful for any force in the region to challenge it but this image was crushed by the Hamas attack.

He added that the operation also proved that the issue of Palestine is alive despite some claims that it is a forgotten issue.

It also awakened the world to the fact that there is injustice and oppression in the region, al-Faisal went on to say.

His remarks have been welcomed in social media platforms.

Back in November, Faisal said at a forum in Manama, Bahrain, that the conflict in Palestine did not start on October 7 but has lasted since 1948.

He criticized the West for speaking about the need for addressing the root causes of the conflict but doing nothing about it.

The Al-Aqsa Flood Operation was carried out by the Hamas resistance movement against Israel on October 7 in response to the Israeli atrocities in occupied territories and its violations of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

It included missile attacks on occupied cities and ground assaults on settlements near the Gaza Strip. That operation plus retaliatory missile strikes by Palestinian resistance groups left hundreds of Israelis dead.
